Mike Blackwell, Temple Cornerstone, L.L.C.
Mike Blackwell is one of the managers and owners of Temple Cornerstone, LLC. For over 27 years, Mr. Blackwell worked as an Area Manager for Texas Employment Commission, now Texas Workforce Commission, in Texas. He directed and managed the Temple Texas Workforce Commission office for 23 years. He has acquired an extensive, in-depth and practical employment policy background. His work as area manager for the TWC included helping hundreds of central Texas businesses and employers successfully handle numerous sensitive human resource issues.
As a manager for Temple Cornerstone, LLC, Mike specializes in one-on-one consultation with human resource directors and supervisors and provides invaluable, practical supervisory training in the areas of unemployment insurance, chargeback avoidance, sexual harassment prevention, and supervisory interviewing skills. While working as the Business Development Coordinator for Scott & White Health Plan, Mike developed and implemented Scott & White Health Plan’s new business and employer services technical support program. In addition, he developed and edited Scott & White Health Plan’s newsletter, Employer Services Quarterly, which contained human resource, health care insurance, and valuable medically related workplace topics for its members and business customers.
Mr. Blackwell has been a director of the Temple Chamber of Commerce, chaired industrial development teams and worked on numerous other chamber committees. In addition, he served as a Temple City Planning and Zoning Commissioner for three years. Mike was a co-founder and past president of the Central Texas Human Resource Managers Association. He helped establish the local workforce development board and served as one of its original board members for over twelve years.
